The Town of Perinton’s Memorial Bench Program offers a unique way to honor loved ones, commemorate special occasions, or create a lasting tribute within our parks.

By purchasing a bench, you can work with the Parks Department to select a location in one of our scenic parks and leave a meaningful mark for years to come.

How It Works:

  1. Select Your Bench:
    • New Bench: A classic 6-foot cherry wood bench for $3,000, complete with a personalized plaque.
    • New Replacement Bench: If you would like to replace an existing park bench, a new 6-foot cherry wood bench is available for $2,500, including the personalized plaque.
  2. Personalize Your Tribute: Each bench will feature a personalized plaque with a name, (optional) date, and message of your choice to commemorate your loved one or special event.
  3. Choose Your Location: Work with the Town of Perinton’s Parks Department to select the perfect spot within one of our beautiful parks. We’ll help ensure the location is suitable and accessible. Locations with existing benches in need of an upgrade are available for the Replacement Bench option.
  4. Payment: After the Parks Department approves the location and finalizes the plaque personalization, payment can be made via cash, check, or credit card. Once payment is received, the bench will be ordered.
  5. Installation: After your bench and plaque are ordered, delivered and assembled, our parks team will install it at the selected location. It can take 4-6 months to receive the bench from the manufacturer, and installation typically takes a few weeks.
  6. Maintenance: The Town of Perinton will maintain the bench for a guaranteed 10 years. General upkeep and care will be performed within our regular park maintenance responsibilities. After 10 years, while ongoing maintenance is not guaranteed, we will make reasonable efforts to preserve the bench within our park operations.

Program Details:

  • Bench Type: 6-foot classic cherry wood bench with heavy-duty cast aluminum armrests.
  • Price:
    • New Bench: $3,000 (includes bench, standard plaque, and installation)
    • Replacement Bench: $2,500 (includes bench, standard plaque, and installation)
  • Plaque Options:
    • Standard Option: 2×8-inch aluminum plate plaque, gold color with black lettering. This option is included at no additional cost.
    • Upgraded Option: 2×8-inch bronze casting plaque with raised lettering, dark bronze color, and gold text. An additional cost of approximately $175 applies.
  • Guaranteed Memorial Length: 10 years
  • Maintenance: General upkeep within park responsibilities for the duration of the 10-year memorial period. Maintenance beyond 10 years is not guaranteed but will be considered within park operations.
