S.W.I.R.L. is the Town of Perinton’s annual full‑day professional development conference, designed for staff at all levels across public, private, nonprofit, and community organizations. 2026 Key Features

Keynote Speaker

The conference will open with a keynote address from Rev. Barbara Adams, O.M.C., M.S. Ed Minister & Spiritual Director, Unity Rochester Spiritual Center.

Rev. Adams brings over three decades of experience in education, leadership development, wellness, and diversity initiatives. Her work includes youth leadership programming, anti‑bullying efforts, community engagement, and a distinguished 32-year career with East Irondequoit Central School District. She has been recognized as New York State Health Teacher of the Year and continues to serve in community wellness and inclusivity efforts across the region.

Covering:

  • Mental health and wellness topics will be addressed by presenters from the Child Advocacy Center of Greater Rochester, Lattimore Workplace Solutions, and other health‑focused partners.
  • Workplace leadership development will be supported by experts from Livingston Associates, Redcom Laboratories, and Town of Perinton Recreation & Parks.
  • Adaptive Programs & Inclusion Strategies and adaptive program development will be presented by organizations such as Endless Highway, the Child Advocacy Center, Camp Puzzle Peace, and leaders in diverse ability advocacy.
  • Safety Best Practices featuring professionals from the U.S. Department of Homeland Security, Safety Educational Services, Monroe County Public Health, Lollypop Farm (Humane Society), and emergency preparedness partners.
  • Recreation Program Development guided by specialists from RIT, the American Swimming Coaches Association, and municipal recreation experts.
