The Town of Perinton is currently seeking residents interested in filling two vacancies on the Conservation Board, a volunteer advisory board focused on environmental matters within the Town.
The Conservation Board serves in an advisory capacity, primarily providing recommendations to the Planning Board, Town Board and Zoning Board of Appeals on whether applications will have a significant environmental impact in accordance with the State Environmental Quality Review Act (SEQRA). The Conservation Board also meets with the applicants and comments to the Planning Board, Town Board and Zoning Board of Appeals on matters pertaining to environmental issues within the Town. The Board also reviews existing and proposed conservation and farming easement applications for recommendation to the Town Assessor and Town Board. There is off-site field work involved in reviewing the applications before the Town.
The Conservation Board can meet up to twice a month at 7:00 PM, on the Tuesday before the first and third Wednesday of each month. Meetings are held in the Town Hall Board Room, 1350 Turk Hill Road.
