Safety & Security

The Safety and Security Department is tasked with ensuring a safe and secure environment for employees, residents and visitors to Town owned facilities and properties. To accomplish this mission the Safety and Security Department is tasked with the following duties:

Inspection of Town facilities with consideration to life safety and security
Management of life safety systems including fire alarms, fire extinguishers, sprinkler systems and special extinguishing systems
Management of security systems including burglar alarms, closed circuit television systems, access control
Accident investigation and prevention
Security incident investigations
Life safety and security training for employees
Subject matter expertise in the areas of Life Safety, Fire Prevention, Hazard Mitigation, Risk Management and Security

The Department is located at the Perinton Town Hall located at 1350 Turk Hill Road, and is available for routine business Monday through Friday.

All Town Safety and Security staff wear a powder blue uniform shirt. All staff members drive a Town marked vehicle while on duty. Our staff conduct routine patrols of all Town properties.

All requests for information should be completed via a FOIL request. Additionally, a written request can be submitted by email to safety@perinton.org. If you need to speak with a Safety and Security Officer regarding an incident, you can contact dispatch at 585-505-8471 or our office 585-223-0770 during regular business hours.

All lost and found items are brought to the Safety and Security Department. Consult our list of found properties on this website. Additionally, lost item reports can be submitted online. If your item is on our list, please feel free to contact us at safety@perinton.org or 585-223-0770 during regular business hours. We will set up a time for you to pick up your property. All pickups will require a valid state issue identification.
