Credit Card & Debit Card Processing Fee Notice & FAQs

The Town of Perinton is implementing a credit and debit card processing fee to reflect standard practices for secure electronic payments and to provide greater transparency around transaction costs.

What Is Changing?

Effective January 2, 2026, a 3% processing fee will apply to all credit card and debit card transactions.

The fee is charged by the credit card processor
• The fee is not retained by the Town of Perinton
• The fee applies to payments made both online and in person

Programs Listed in the Recreation & Parks Brochure

Program fees listed in the seasonal Recreation & Parks brochure reflect the cash/check price.

If you choose to pay by credit or debit card, the 3% processing fee will be calculated and displayed in your cart at checkout before you complete your transaction.

This ensures transparency while clearly identifying the base program cost.

Passes, Drop-In Use & Facility Reservations

The 3% processing fee also applies to:

  • Recreation passes (including fitness and aquatic passes)
  • Drop-in facility use
  • Park shelter and facility reservations
  • Rentals and other Recreation & Parks transactions

If paying by credit or debit card, the 3% processing fee will be added at checkout.

A 3% cash/check discount is reflected when payment is made by cash or check.

Why Is This Change Being Made?

Credit card and debit card companies charge processing fees for secure payment services. The processing fee will be paid by the user to align with industry standards and ensure transparency in how transaction costs are handled.
